When it comes to the rooms, entry-level Classic Doubles are fairly small (15 sq m/161 sq ft) but beautifully appointed with antiques, a comfy lounge chair and beds that will have you lifting the (high thread-count) sheets to see who made the mattress. Marble bathrooms come with power showers, TVs in the bathrooms and Floris toiletries (decadently scented). You’ll have to ask about the views when you book, but to ensure a room with a view (of the Egerton Gardens), opt for a top-floor Studio Suite.
There’s no in-house gym or spa, but that’s a plus (unless it’s raining) as you’ll have access to the nearby Aquilla Health and Fitness Centre which has everything you need, including a large indoor pool, a spa offering a wide range of treatments and a state-of-the-art fitness centre. Of course, a jog around Hyde Park is also an option. Just make sure you’re back in time for Afternoon Tea here at the hotel, something you won’t want to miss.
