But wherever you sleep, the kids will dive right into resort life here, and once they get their swimwear on it’s time for them to head to one of several kids’ clubs. There’s even one for teenagers and an adventure park within the resort for those that need to blow off steam.
There’s more, including a gym, a pool, a spa as well as the beach (with Babe Watch services). Once the day winds down, leave the kids with the sitter and hop on the Asterias sunset cruise before heading to the Water Restaurant, a culinary treat, followed by a drink at the Water Bar.
After dinner, wander over to the concierge to check out what’s happening the next day. An early morning swim in the sea may be the perfect way to start the day, but with all the water sports on offer, water-skiing and snorkelling may appeal that much more.
To get here, you’ll fly into Thessaloniki Airport, about an hour’s drive from the resort. If you look at Halkidiki on a map, you’ll see the three jutting peninsulas; the Sani Resort is situated on Kassandra, the westernmost. Of interest, the easternmost is where Mount Athos is located, well worth the boat trip to see the 20 monasteries that cling to the coastline. Of course, as the only monastic republic in Europe, very few tourists are allowed and must apply way in advance. Women, however, are strictly forbidden.
