The hotel has had nearly two centuries to perfect its aesthetic, and it shows, beginning in the opulent foyer with its marble floors, extravagant floral arrangements and Ming-style vases. Rooms are significantly less lavish but still quite lovely. Most are classically French in design, with antique furniture, brocades and soothing pastel tones. Loft suites, by contrast, are more contemporary with gilded accents. Book the Suite Mont Blanc for something entirely different. In all, large windows have beautiful views (the best, naturally, are of Lake Geneva), and well-stocked minibars have necessities for tea and coffee.
