ASMALLWORLD Winter Weekend 2025

ASMALLWORLD Winter Weekend 2025

Each December, when the Alps take on its winter coat, St. Moritz begins to sparkle again. The town comes alive with anticipation as headlights curl up the mountain road toward Suvretta House, marking the return of a tradition cherished by ASMALLWORLD Members from around the world.

There’s a certain rhythm to it now, a pattern that regulars recognise and newcomers quickly fall into. Car doors close, luggage rolls across the snow, and soon a chorus of cheerful hellos and laughter fills the hotel lobby. And just like that, ASMALLWORLD Winter Weekend begins…

It’s tradition, yes, but never routine. The 13th edition, taking place from 12 to 14 December, will welcome new faces and create memories no one could have scripted, while still carrying that sense of belonging that keeps members coming back year after year.

Suvretta House: The Grande Dame of St. Moritz

Since its first celebration at Suvretta House last December, Winter Weekend has settled effortlessly into its new location, as if the event and the hotel were always destined to come together. This year’s return carries a sense of homecoming — a tradition continuing exactly where it belongs.

Set on the quiet slopes above the Engadine Valley, the grand hotel has been part of St. Moritz’s story since 1912. Its Belle Époque silhouette is instantly recognisable, rising proudly among the pines with a view that could stop even the most seasoned skier mid-turn.

Inside, the polished wood panelling, coffered ceilings, and chandeliers create an old-world air, while the discreet service reminds guests why this palatial hideaway has long been considered the soul of Swiss luxury. With 181 rooms and suites defined by understated elegance, a revered Grand Restaurant, and a private ski lift that delivers guests straight to the Corviglia slopes, the hotel offers everything one might hope for in the world’s most glamorous ski resort.

And as if that weren’t enticing enough, Suvretta House is set to unveil its new Spa & Wellness area on 5 December. The three-level retreat will feature panoramic yoga and fitness spaces, steam baths, saunas, and a new outdoor jacuzzi and pool overlooking the snow-dusted Graubünden mountains. It’s the kind of addition that makes staying on after the Winter Weekend celebrations feel like a very tempting thought.

Curtains Up at Billionaire St. Moritz

The weekend’s first evening arrives dressed in that unmistakable Friday energy. After a convivial welcome cocktail, dusk drapes itself over the valley, guiding guests toward the Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski, where the night’s stage awaits: Billionaire St. Moritz.

This glamorous newcomer to Switzerland – and now to the Winter Weekend experience – has already made an entrance worthy of its name. Founded by F1 legend Flavio Briatore and celebrated from Dubai to Monaco, Billionaire brings its signature blend of high-energy performance and haute cuisine to the Swiss Alps.

Inside, the evening takes on a cinematic rhythm. Under Artistic Director Irma Di Paola, a cast of world-class performers, singers, and dancers brings the room to life, each act unfolding seamlessly between courses. In the kitchen, Chef Batuhan Piatti’s menu blends Italian heritage with innovative New Asian flair, turning dinner into part of the spectacle. The result is pure theatre: designed to leave you in awe.

By the time dessert turns into dancing, the hours slip away unnoticed, because at Billionaire St. Moritz, no one wants the curtain to close too soon. Officially, it’s an after-party — unofficially, it’s where some of the best Winter Weekend stories begin…

A Taste of Switzerland at Trutz

After the splendour of the night before, Saturday brings a breath of fresh mountain air. Taking Suvretta House’s private ski lift, guests glide up to Trutz, an alpine restaurant set high above Engadine Valley. Reserved exclusively for Winter Weekend guests, the mountainside hideaway offers sweeping views of the snow-covered alps and Lake Silvaplana below.

A MOUNTAIN LUNCH AT TRUTZ

By midday, the terrace hums with energy, fondue pots bubbling, and the sound of clinking glasses echoing across the slopes. There’s live music, sunshine, and that unmistakable sense of ease that only St. Moritz can deliver.

It’s a moment to breathe, connect, and simply take it all in before the night’s next crescendo.

GOOD COMPANY AT HIGH ALTITUDE

A Night of Granting Wishes

When the final night falls over Suvretta House, the day’s carefree laughter gives way to something more poised. Inside, the ballroom is transformed. Candlelit tables line the room, and the mix of tuxedos, evening gowns, and welcoming murmur creates an easy kind of elegance. Guests take their seats for the ASW Foundation Gala Dinner, a highlight of the weekend, defined by a shared sense of purpose.

Each year, the Gala finds new ways to give its sparkle meaning. This edition supports Make-A-Wish Switzerland & Liechtenstein, helping children facing critical illnesses see their most heartfelt wishes come true. Since its founding in 2003 in Geneva, the foundation has granted more than 900 wishes across Switzerland and contributed to over 615,000 worldwide.

A wish can be a small thing: meeting a hero or seeing the ocean for the first time, yet its impact lingers long after, rekindling courage, hope and joy for children and their families.

And on this night, it’s clear: the real magic isn’t in the glitter, but in the hearts that make wishes come true.

AN EVENING OF ELEGANCE AND PURPOSE

A night this meaningful deserves a dazzling finale. When dinner draws to a close, the celebration continues at one of St. Moritz’s iconic clubs — soon to be revealed — where the evening finds its encore in true Winter Weekend style.
