A new player in Geneva's luxury hospitality scene, The Woodward is quickly making a name for itself on the shores of the city’s iconic lake. Occupying a building that dates back to 1901, the hotel has been meticulously restored and lovingly reimagined to preserve its timeless elegance while bringing it squarely into the 21st century. The property – which opened in September 2021 – is decked out with all the trimmings, from two restaurants helmed by Michelin-starred talent, to state-of-the-art wellness facilities and stunning panoramic views from its perch on the shore.

You'll find no traditional rooms within The Woodward. Instead, there are a mere 26 suites, all of which have been exquisitely curated and uniquely designed so that each possesses its own personality. The interior design is truly stunning: equal parts timeless elegance and modern lakeside luxury. Pale hues dominate the bright, high-ceilinged interiors: a soft palette which is punctuated here and there by accents of dark wood and gold. Pastel headboards set in blue and pink add another burst of colour, as do floral arrangements and tasteful touches like framed artwork. As you climb the ladder of suites, you'll find that many of the finest ones were designed to resemble private apartments. These posh, residential-feeling spaces are elegant as can be and boast private balconies – as many as four – to go with their spectacular interiors.

Michelin-starred Chef Olivier Jean is the mastermind behind Le Jardinier: the restaurant’s first iteration in Europe following success in both its New York and Miami outposts. There, a magnificently fresh menu is delightfully inclusive, with an impressive number of options that are vegan, dairy and gluten-free. The plant-focused cuisine is bright and vibrant, and two large verandas which overlook Geneva Harbour are the icing on the cake. L’Atelier Robuchon – also helmed by Olivier Jean – is a visually striking space that utilises an open kitchen concept to create its theatrical dining experience. The moody interiors are a sultry blend of deep red and lacquered wood, and the cuisine is spectacular French.

Wellness amenities at the hotel are absolutely top-notch. The Guerlain Spa is one of the highlights and lives up to the iconic brand’s luxurious reputation with its exquisite offerings and six treatment rooms. You'll also find a state-of-the-art gym alongside saunas, steam rooms, two Swedish baths and a 21-metre indoor swimming pool – the longest of its kind in Geneva.
