Occupying the top 31 floors of the soaring Zhuhai Tower, The St. Regis Zhuhai is a high-flying getaway with an enviable address. Set on the Wanzai waterfront (which is colloquially known as the ‘Chinese Riviera’), the hotel enjoys a scenic location in an upscale area that’s far more tranquil than the bustling city centre. While getting downtown requires a bit of a drive, the hotel more than makes up for it with spectacular views and relatively easy access to plenty of things to see, do and eat. Wanzai Seafood Street, for example, is a mere two kilometres away, while the sprawling Zhuxian Park is also close at hand.

Classic, Caroline Astor-inspired guest rooms are large by default: the smallest entry-level options span a generous sixty square metres. Within, the spaces are plush and elegant, with a sophisticated colour scheme that blends soft pastel tones with crisp whites, turquoise accents and touches of gold throughout. Tufted headboards, glittering chandeliers and polished wood furniture contribute to the air of refinement, while full-wall windows frame spectacular views of the city, river or ocean. Head to the 42nd floor for all-day dining at Yan Ting, which boasts traditional Cantonese fine dining in a beautiful space overlooking Macau and Zhuhai. One floor beneath Yan Ting is Social, which is the property’s signature buffet restaurant. There, international cuisine can be enjoyed in a space inspired by the dining saloons of first-class cruise passengers in the early twentieth century. For something entirely different, opt for Italian cuisine at LaBrezza on the 71st floor. Another fine-dining option, this venue features elevated design, an open kitchen and a wine cellar with over four hundred labels. Last but not least is The St. Regis Bar, which is as good a spot for a cocktail as it is for the property’s signature Afternoon Tea.

Wellness amenities abound at The St. Regis, beginning with the lovely Iridium Spa.
