Set within the stunning Jeanne Gang-designed Vista Tower, the property holds the distinction of being the third-tallest building in Chicago and the tallest skyscraper in the world designed by a woman. The hotel’s address in the Lakeshore East neighbourhood offers a welcome dose of calm, heightened by fabulous views of the water. Tranquil though it may be, the St. Regis’ location is still a convenient one: guests will find plenty of dining and entertainment options within walking distance, alongside Chicago landmarks like Millennium Park, which is just a breezy stroll away.
Within the 101-storey building are 159 guest rooms and 33 suites. You’ll have no shortage of restaurants to choose from in the surrounding streets, in addition to three strong options within the hotel itself. Tre Dita Cucina Toscana is a striking Italian restaurant led by Chef Evan Funke – visit for handmade pastas, wood-fired steaks, a 700-label all-Italian wine list and a glamorous vibe. Nearby, you can continue the evening at Bar Tre Dita, where you’ll find delectable small plates and an enticing cocktail list. The flavours of Japan are brought to Chicago at Miru, which combines Japanese cuisine with French techniques in its sharing-style menu. Miru is particularly worthwhile if you can dine outdoors on the terrace on Wednesday or Saturday to watch the fireworks over the water.
