You can expect to be treated like royalty at any St. Regis property, and the St. Regis Bali Resort is no different, by a long shot. This heavenly hideaway exudes understated elegance, and you’ll feel you’re well and truly in Bali as Javanese shadow puppets, intricate wood carvings, and geometric patterns with elements of the local culture are to be seen everywhere you look.

Arrange an airport transfer in advance; you’ll be here at the St. Regis in a mere half-hour. You’ll be blown away by the resort’s big, breezy and opulent suites and villas that are sprawled out over nearly twenty acres of land, connected by garden pathways and dotted with hidden gazebos. Many have their own pools, outdoor spaces, pergolas and views of the beach and the Indian Ocean; all have beach access, tropical hardwood floors, mod cons and on-call butlers.

The gardens are exquisite, landscaped by notorious Bangkok-based designer Bill Bensley, who, to this already tranquil haven, added his unique touches of frivolity and fun at every turn, including oversized sculptures and pool loungers in the shape of human silhouettes.

If you enjoy playing golf everywhere you go, you’re only a mile away from Bali Golf. Otherwise, stick around and enjoy the lagoon (order a pina colada while sitting, submerged, in the sunken sitting room), the pools and the beach, where you can windsurf or kayak in tranquil waters. Allocate several hours to the Iridium Spa with its heavenly treatments, steam rooms, sauna and the menu of treatments inspired by traditional Balinese wellness. A beauty salon and yoga studio are the icing on the cake, as is the gym with its state-of-the-art Technogym equipment and trainers on hand to encourage you to go the extra mile before lunch.

A good thing for sure is you’ll eat like a king here in one of several dining outlets, including the Balinese cuisine served in a carved gazebo at Dulang and the popular Sunday brunch at Boneka. Sip a cold drink at the swim-up Vista Bar or enjoy
a cocktail or two while listening to live jazz at the glamorous St. Regis Bar. Don’t miss at least one dinner at Kayuputi, where views of the ocean are surpassed by the Pan-Asian haute cuisine, and be sure to try the amazing coffee and chocolates at the Gourmand Deli.

Very much a family-friendly venue, there’s a kids' pool and a Children’s Learning Centre that keeps younger guests aged four to twelve busy throughout the day and even offers in-room activities if you prefer.
