A relative newcomer to Singapore’s luxury hospitality scene, The Singapore EDITION offers an upscale stay in the heart of the city. The EDITION brand’s debut property in Southeast Asia enjoys a prime location off of Orchard Road, which is Singapore’s lively go-to destination for all things shopping, dining and entertainment. You’ll want for little with that iconic boulevard so close at hand, but Orchard Road isn’t the only draw: the famed Singapore Botanic Gardens are also an easy stroll away.

Safdie Architects are the masterminds behind the hotel’s attention-grabbing exterior, while hotelier Ian Schrager and design firm Cap Atelier are to thank for all that’s found within. Greenery features prominently throughout the hotel and the lobby – which features a gold-leaf domed ceiling and abundant white marble – is no exception. Beyond the tranquil entry space are the hotel’s 204 guest rooms and suites. While these accommodations embody less of a jungle vibe than many of the property’s shared spaces, they are a continuation of the lobby's zen ambience. Sophisticated, stylish and elegant in their simplicity, these pared-back spaces are utterly soothing from tip to toe. The interior design scheme is restrained to achieve this atmosphere, and all details are carefully curated to match it: think crisp ivory linens, white oak floors, onyx furnishings and gentle lighting.

Colour and energy are brought back into play in the hotel’s drinking and dining venues, of which there are five in all. FYSH at EDITION is Chef Josh Niland’s first restaurant outside of Australia and is a vision of marble, wood and lush greenery. As its name would suggest, this restaurant is a seafood-focused steakhouse, and its seasonally changing menu highlights sustainably sourced ingredients. Punch Room is EDITION’s signature bar concept and is an intimate cocktail lounge drenched in Yves Klein blue. On the hotel’s Lower Ground is a micro club called Wonder Room, while pink velvet and a rose-coloured pool table await in the Lobby Bar. Do be sure to pay a visit to The Roof, which enjoys a semi-al fresco ambience with a verdant shaded dining area.

The Roof features an attractive swimming pool for guests seeking a respite from the heat, but those who prefer to exercise indoors will have access to a streamlined fitness centre that remains open 24 hours a day. To recover from a workout (or from a night out or jet lag), indulge in a treatment or two at the hotel’s tranquil spa.
