Stately columns frame the entrance to The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia which occupies a former bank building dating back to 1908 and an adjacent high-rise added on in the 1920s that now houses the guest rooms. After a recent multi-million dollar renovation, the hotel pays homage to its history with nickel and copper design accents while preserving the original Pantheon-inspired architecture, Georgian marble and grand rotunda lobby. Set on the Avenue of the Arts just across from City Hall, this posh hotel is within a few blocks of dozens of dining options. It’s also within a 20-minute walk of historic sites including the Liberty Belle, Independence Hall and the Besty Ross House.
