At the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes, you’ll find you’re an oasis away from Disney and the theme park madness of Orlando. It’s sophisticated, and yet is a casual and comfortable environment with superb facilities and dining options, not to mention easy access to the ritzy Mall at Millenia, plus dozens of shopping and dining venues close by.

When it comes to accessing the theme parks, there’s a complimentary shuttle bus to ferry you to and fro. And within the four walls here are many other entertainment options, especially as the hotel shares amenities with neighbouring JW Marriott. So, in addition to the spa, the gym and the Greg Norman 18-hole golf club, there are many other sporting options. Those include fishing in the Everglades, a mountain bike trail, kyack eco-tours and safaris, tennis courts, swimming pools and the lazy river that’s also part of the JW Marriott. The latest attraction here is the AquaCourse 360 a traditional rope course that’s hosted poolside. It’s a wet and wild adventure that’s wildly popular for those over 48 inches tall, so get out your tape measure. Alternatively, short or tall, the Ritz Kids programme is notoriously great, and kids of 4 -12 years old can sign up for hours of fun and frolic.

The hotel is Italian palazzo style, with 582-rooms that are elegantly furnished in neutral shades with a cornflower blue chaise longue in each, more in the suites. There’s an option to include access to the Club Level with any room you book, a choice that’s always worth considering, especially here where you’re likely to need a stiff drink (although not free) and some nibbles after a full day in the theme parks. Besides, if you’re like many we know who cannot figure out the whole Orlando scene without help, the dedicated concierge team here cannot escape you, no matter how hard they may try.

The hotel’s dining scene is very exciting, as there are eleven venues within the two properties, serving everything from sushi to flatbreads, milkshakes to smoothies, fine wines, craft beers and fancy cocktails. Highball & Harvest, as an example, is an elegant venue, a farm-to-table restaurant with an exciting menu that includes fresh oysters, fried chicken and kale salad; something for everyone. But whatever you or the kids fancy in terms of food or entertainment, they’ve got you covered here at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes with a smile. Service (it’s America) is second to none.
