Serenely located within a lush palm grove beside 440 acres of gorgeous forests and pristine gardens is the newly inaugurated Ritz-Carlton Rabat, Dar Es Salam. Opened in the Fall of 2024, this is the Ritz-Carlton brand’s debut property in Morocco. Already a destination unto itself, the hotel’s address is an enviable one for golf enthusiasts in particular: the iconic Royal Golf Dar Es Salam is quite literally just steps away.

Within, traditional Moroccan design meets Art Deco elegance to create a memorably decadent ambience. The hotel’s 117 guest rooms and suites are some of the largest accommodations found in the capital city, and all combine the Ritz-Carlton’s signature sense of luxury with a distinctly local flair. The atmosphere within the rooms is elegant and residential: even the entry-level offerings boast their own living areas. Opulence abounds in all: think plush furnishings, carefully curated art pieces and tasteful Baroque accents. Views vary from one room to the next (we’re partial to the garden vistas), and all accommodations boast large floor-to-ceiling windows with private terraces beyond.

A handful of eateries provide a good bit of variety at mealtimes, though you’ll certainly want to reserve plenty of time to explore the vibrant gastronomy scene of Rabat at large. Open for all meals of the day, the Mediterranean Brasserie is exactly what its name suggests. Light-filled, airy and with options for dining both indoors and out, this is a prime spot for fresh pasta, elegant salads and local seafood dishes. Later in the day, head outside to Palapa: a tropical tiki hut with a thatched roof and a Pan-American menu comprising dishes like tacos and ceviche. For champagne at sundown or afternoon tea of either the English or Moroccan varieties, visit the beautiful Lobby Lounge. Come nighttime, the 1920s-inspired Blind Tiger is an intimate, sophisticated spot for a romantic drink or two.

The gorgeous landscape, three courses and 45 holes of the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam is sure to entice fans of the game, who can also enjoy the Japanese gardens and VIP cigar lounge found nearby. Riders of all ages and experience levels are catered to at The Royal Equestrian Club, while water sport enthusiasts would be remiss not to take advantage of both Bouregreg River and the 37 miles of nearby Atlantic coastline.
