Start your day with breakfast at The Dining Room, which also offers a nice mix of Western and local dishes for dinner, then have a light lunch with homemade ice cream and ocean views at The Verandah. Creole cuisine and fresh seafood dishes shine at The Plantation restaurant, and if you find that you’re a big fan of the local flavours, you can sign up for a Creole cooking class.
Its raison d’être is the beautiful beach on which it sits, part of the gorgeous mile-long stretch of white sands at Belle Mare—easily one of the nicest, natural beaches on Mauritius. There’s a good range of complimentary activities, including water sports and a daily programme including Tai Chi classes, cinema nights under the stars, parlour games with the staff and other ad-hoc events like an ice bucket challenge for a bit of fun. Don’t miss the on-site spa, which offers everything from classic massages to yoga and meditation classes.
The hotel’s pool area is separated into different sections, with one shallow zone suitable for kids and another offering a constant supply of bubbles. Around it are reclining sun loungers, each with a table and parasol.
