This five-star hotel near Trinity College occupies three former financial buildings that date back to the late 1800s, lovingly restored to create a welcoming retreat you’ll look forward to coming ‘home’ to.

The rooms are elegant and restful, decorated in soft creams and powdery blues that create a calm, cohesive atmosphere. Each features a pillow-top bed dressed in crisp linens, along with both a coffee maker and a kettle for convenience. The marble bathrooms are well-appointed, with rainfall showers and a properly lit make-up mirror, which is always welcome. For something special, the Library Suite charms with its spiral staircase and cosy, tucked-away living room, ideal for lingering over a book or a glass of wine. The College Suite, the hotel’s largest, feels wonderfully expansive, opening onto a private terrace with sweeping views across the city.

Fans of a proper Irish breakfast, the kind built on salted Irish butter and crisp bacon, will feel right at home at Morelands. Mornings here begin with a beautifully executed traditional spread, though a thoughtful vegan menu ensures no one misses out.
