Set on a peninsula on the nation’s southwestern coast, the St. Regis Le Morne Mauritius is a luxurious all-suite getaway with a location that’s nothing short of spectacular. The awe-inspiring Le Morne Brabant serves as a backdrop to the resort, and the beach it resides upon is arguably one of the most beautiful the Indian Ocean has to offer. Add butler services and a wealth of amenities to that, and you have all the necessary ingredients for a luxurious stay in paradise.

The resort draws aesthetic inspiration from its colonial past, with the whole place giving the impression of a manor by the seaside. Accommodations number 173 in all, and all are suites save for the singular four-bedroom Grand Beachfront Villa. There’s a good bit of variety to choose from, whether you book a suite with direct beach access or opt for one perched on the second floor with far-reaching views of the water. Designed to feel residential in nature, the interiors are elegant yet welcoming, with Mauritian craftsmanship showcased throughout. Expect clean lines, a simple colour palette that favours neutral shades and plenty of natural materials used throughout. Flavours from both near and far inspire the resort’s gastronomy scene, which comprises eight venues in all. The Boathouse - Aegean Beach Grill is a seaside spot for a lunch of Turkish and Greek cuisine; another alfresco, toes-in-the-sand option can be found at The Boathouse - Beach Lounge. A live Teppanyaki station makes Atsuko a must-visit for Japanese cuisine, contemporary Indian is showcased at INDYA, and the eye-catching Floating Market features influences from Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and beyond.

Guests will have plenty of experiences with which to fill their hours in and around the resort, from sailing and scuba diving to nature walks or hiking Le Morne mountain. To recuperate post-hike, Pure Spa is well worth a visit (or two), and features a hair and nail salon and men’s grooming area in addition to its dozen-plus treatment rooms.
