The Drawing Room is the resort’s designated Afternoon Tea venue, where guests can experience the midday ritual as Mrs Astor herself would have done over a hundred years ago. Last but certainly not least, The St. Regis Bar is a lively social spot for artisan cocktails and small plates. A little piece of trivia to bear in mind while visiting: each St. Regis outpost concocts its own locally inspired interpretation of the original Bloody Mary; here, ask for the Gates Bay Mary.

Though there is certainly much sightseeing to be done in the local area, the resort boasts several ways to stay entertained on site. The legendary Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the resort's 18-hole golf course, a truly postcard-worthy spot with gorgeous ocean views. If golf isn’t your cup of tea, visit the 24-hour fitness centre to get a workout in, take a dip in one of the resort’s two pools (one of which, thankfully, is adults-only), or head out for a run on the jogging trail. When you’ve had enough activity for the day, pay a visit to the Iridium Spa for an indulgent treatment (or two).
