Yet inside, there’s a lot of luxury to be enjoyed: expect to find a Nespresso machine at your disposal, gorgeous teabags from Singapore’s famous TWG teahouse and luxurious toiletries by Hermes. Bathrooms come with self-standing tubs, separate showers and twin sinks. Room interiors are cleverly designed with all the latest mod cons, and soft shades of white and beige on the bed, floors and furnishings are highlighted by regal pops of purple here and there. There’s a club floor (well worth the extra for the breakfast, nibble and drinkies, we say) and the suites are super-luxurious if you’re looking for more space.
When it comes to food and drink, you won’t need to wander far should you wish to stay put. Atelier by Sofitel is the signature restaurant, and this glorious French grill venue has three open kitchens; never a dull moment. Sourcing Australia’s finest produce, the sommelier will, on the flip side, offer the country’s finest wines to match your food choice (even though you could, if you wished, opt for a French option). There are other drinking and dining spots here too, including the very chic Champagne Bar that’s not to be missed, and the Pool Bar that’s a great place for a casual meal and a refreshing beverage (or two).
Recreation comes in the form of an outdoor, very chic infinity pool overlooking the iconic skyline, and there’s also a fully-equipped first-class gymnasium (aptly named SoFit).
