About the hotel
"Nestled into a quiet little corner of Tiergarten, SO/ Berlin Das Stue is a luxurious hub of eclectic design and contemporary sophistication with Michelin-starred dining and an inspired spa."

Further in, stylish rooms are just minimalist enough, set in creative palettes that blend earthy hues with rich jewel tones. The clean, bold lines of the rooms are eye-catching from the sliding walls and blocky modernist furniture to the slender reading lights curved above the bed. Bathrooms are sleek and calm, with spacious tubs and pretty framed artwork. You’ll have a balcony if you stay in a suite (or in one of the rooms that have them), and nearly all accommodations gaze out at the Tiergarten.
The Mediterannean, Michelin-starred Cinco is the hotel’s crown jewel. The restaurant’s artsy dining room is both edgy and elegant, and the cuisine is excellent – inspired tasting menus offer multiple courses of what feels like a gastronomic experiment. The Casual Restaurant is – surprise – more casual than Cinco, serving breakfast and a great array of tapas. Stue Bar has a comfortably retro feel to it, enhanced all the more by the vintage films that are screened there nightly.
The Berlin Zoo – which claims to have the world’s largest assortment of species – can be accessed by a guests-only entrance through the bar’s terrace. All of Tiergarten is just steps outside of the hotel’s front doors; rambling paths will lead you to historic monuments, while a leisurely 15-minute stroll through the park will reward you with endless options for shopping, dining and sightseeing. At the end of a day spent wandering, take a dip in the dreamy, pastel wall-surrounded swimming pool. After, finish your workout in the gym or have a facial in the spa. Designed by Susanne Kaufmann, the spa’s treatment rooms are equal parts pampering and playful – in one, a large painting depicts an ostrich wearing snorkel gear – an ode, perhaps, to the cheerful ostrich enclosure that is right next door.
