Spectacularly located, deliciously private and as exclusive as can be, Raffles Bali is a heavenly escape that – despite being just twenty minutes from the airport – truly feels a world away from it all. Pristine gardens, a secluded beach and the beautiful ocean beyond set the stage for an effortlessly luxurious stay.

There are just 32 private villas in all, each of which enjoys its own private pool and garden. The careful consideration that was a hallmark of the resort’s development process is evident both in the visual landscape – the low buildings blend harmoniously with the surrounding nature, rather than detracting from it – as well as in the vistas: every villa enjoys sweeping views over the lovely Jimbaran Bay. Those views can be further customised by your choice of location, whether that's perched on the hilltop or set smack on the oceanfront. Within, the spaces feel effortlessly elegant, with vaulted ceilings, dark wooden floors and an abundance of organic materials used throughout. Accents like batik tapestries and rattan furniture lend a sense of place, while large windows allow the views to remain the stars of the show.

Chef Gaetan Biezus helms the gastronomy scene here, which is nothing short of excellent. Eighty per cent of the seasonal ingredients used in the progressive Southeast Asian cuisine are sourced from producers across the archipelago, with many additions coming from the property's own garden. Contemporary Indonesian fare and a wine collection that's over 250 labels strong define the restaurant Rumari. There, an ever-evolving menu features multi-course tasting experiences alongside à la carte options – all of which are artistically presented and supremely fresh. Loloan Coastal Peruvian is a poolside spot that overlooks the ocean; lunch here might mean ceviche and empanadas, while dinner could be squid a la parilla, bamboo lobster or a succulent meat dish. Experiential dining is something Raffles Bali does quite well, whether that means an extravagant feast at the greenery-surrounded Farm Terrace, barbecues on the beach, or even a romantic dinner for two in an ancient candle-lit cave.

Raffles Spa is the property's temple to all things wellness, and it’s here that you'll find a 24-hour fitness centre, swimming pool and tennis and pickleball courts alongside a comprehensive menu of spa treatments. These can be enjoyed at the spa itself or in the privacy of your own villa; those in need of a little extra restoration can partake in sacred Balinese purification rituals, singing bowl therapy and fire cleansing.
