Set in a former palace in the heart of Vienna that dates back to 1844, Palais Coburg Residenz underwent years of careful restoration to restore it to its former glory before it opened as a hotel in 2003. This all-suite property offers luxurious five-star accommodations in a stately setting decorated with museum-quality artwork, antique furnishings and glittering crystal chandeliers. One of the most striking structures within the palace is the preserved remnant of a stone city fortification wall that dates back to the 1500s. The Wien Museum Mozart Apartment where Mozart lived and composed is just a seven-minute walk from the hotel, while the picturesque Stadtpark is also a quick jaunt away. In addition to the on-site dining options, you will find dozens of additional restaurants within a ten-minute walk, with cuisine ranging from Romanian to classic Austrian and everything in between.
The 34 elegant suites are divided into five different categories, all of which offer either city or garden views. Most suites feature antique furnishings, while some of the City Suites offer a more modern feel. The three Coburg Suites are the hotel's largest, with the bi-level Albert Suite boasting a full kitchen and the Victoria and Maria Antonie suites each featuring a private terrace and private sauna.
Enjoy all-day gourmet dining in the charming greenhouse setting at Clementine In Glashaus, or take a seat at the cosy red leather and wooden Wine Bar, and get down to the serious business of exploring selections from the hotel’s vast wine cellars. With one of Europe's largest collections, the hotel boasts 60,000 bottles from over four centuries and every region. Of course, you should tour the cellars themselves so you’ll know what to order with your meal at the two Michelin-starred Silvio Nickol (reserve early). On a lighter note, on the first Sunday of each month, you can indulge in a decadent brunch with free-flowing champagne.
Escape to the tranquil garden, a lush oasis of greenery decorated with fountains, flowers, and statues. In the spa, you can take a refreshing dip in the indoor pool or relax in the hot tub, sauna or steam room. Choose a soothing treatment from the spa menu which includes hot stone massage, reflexology and caviar facials, or select one of the Wine Spa offerings with vinotherapy massages and a Turkish bath with grape extracts. You'll also find a sunny conservatory and a sun deck to unwind on after your treatment.
