A contemporary boutique getaway with an enviable address, NEW Hotel Athens makes for a memorable stay in the heart of Greece’s capital city. The first hotel project of award-winning Brazilian designers (and brothers) Fernando and Humberto Campana, this design hotel features periodical exhibitions, an impressive permanent collection and a creative ambience that makes guests feel as if they’re staying within an art installation.

NEW Hotel’s location on Filellinon Street makes it a perfect launching pad from which to explore Athens both near and far. Across the street, you’ll find the verdant National Gardens, while many must-see attractions and neighbourhoods are less than a 15-minute walk away. An abundance of shopping, dining and entertainment options are also easily accessible by foot and, for everything else, there's a metro station and bus stop (the latter of which connects directly to the Athens International Airport) just steps away from the hotel.

Within the snazzy hotel are just 79 accommodations, ranging from entry-level Standard Rooms to the magnificent Penthouse Suite. Beginning at 23 square metres, the spaces are cleverly designed to feel larger than they actually are, an ambience made possible by streamlined furniture, strategic mirrors and full-wall windows that let in plenty of natural light. Upon setting foot in one of the rooms, the first impression is one of whimsy: guests are greeted by accent walls in vibrant shades like tangerine and strawberry pink alongside eye-catching, wall-mounted artwork. All accommodations feature balconies, and views vary from entry-level side street vistas to the nicer rooms’ views of Lycabettus Hill, the Russian Church of Sotira Lykodimou and more. From the Penthouse Suite’s large outdoor terrace, you’ll have 360° views of Athens’ landmarks: the Houses of Parliament and the Acropolis included.

You’ll have two in-house options for drinking and dining at the hotel: the fine-dining restaurant– New Taste – and the rooftop bar and restaurant, Art Lounge. Located on the ground floor, New Taste showcases locally sourced ingredients in its inspired dishes, and the architecturally jaw-dropping dining room is not one you’ll soon forget.
