Set in 200 acres of semi-secluded wetlands lining Florida's Gulf Coast, most of the 474 classically decorated accommodations are located in the main 18-story building; the higher up, the better. That’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to dining here at the resort, which has five venues in addition to in-room options and the grab-and-go Spressi Marketplace. Aura is an easy spot for a casual breakfast; for lunch, you’ll find tapas, tacos and plenty of beverages at Gulf Coast Oasis Pool Bar. Mantra is another good spot for drinks (ideally enjoyed with oysters), while the Sunset Veranda is a lovely alfresco option for enjoying the evening.

Besides the beach, there are three swimming pools. And besides golf, there are 15 tennis courts, a pro shop and a fitness centre. After a day in the sun, head to the spa, which offers Ayurvedic and Eastern therapies and has a full-service salon.
