The newest addition to LXR Hotels & Resorts Can be found on Mahé: the largest island of Seychelles. Called Mango House, this experiential establishment creates its own rules for a uniquely unforgettable stay on the oceanfront.

Mango House’s 41 accommodations – all of which, it should be noted, have views of the sea – are split into eleven categories. Guests have plenty of variety to choose from, whether they desire an intimate hilltop suite or a majestic villa that’s set smack on the waterfront. All are gorgeous, with an artsy, ethereal vibe that heightens the feeling of being in true paradise. The colours and textures of Seychelles are echoed in every inch; from the pale blonde wood and swaths of wispy fabric suspended over the beds to the sea-coloured artwork and rugs underfoot. The spaces are supremely stylish but effortlessly so; everything feels posh, but nothing feels pretentious. Private outdoor spaces are ideal spots to soak up the sun and allow guests to make the most of the stunning Anse Aux Poules Bleues views.

The culinary scene at Mango House is as visually striking as it is delicious, with five distinct options for food and drink. The brasserie-style Muse opens early and serves Creole and Mediterranean fare all day long in a spirited dining room with a convivial ambience. The picture-perfect Kokoye is an exploration of Indo-Seychellois gastronomy, with a seriously trendy vibe and a killer cocktail list. At the Japanese restaurant Azido, a small, perfectly curated menu highlights the flavourful bounty of the surrounding land and sea. The sushi – needless to say – is spectacularly fresh. Dine on mouthwatering BBQ with your toes in the sand at the Creole-inspired Moutya, or head to Soley (the pool bar) for a tropical drink and a light bite.

You’ll certainly want to spend as much time enjoying the outdoors as you can during your stay, and Mango House provides plenty of opportunities to do just that, whether that means going for a dip in one of the hotel’s three pools, or taking to the shimmering waters of the bay by way of kayaking or snorkelling. There’s also a fully-equipped fitness centre for guests looking for a more traditional workout, alongside an indulgent spa with treatment rooms overlooking the Indian Ocean.
