The two-Michelin starred Sur Mesure par Thierry Marx is avant-garde both in gastronomy and appearance; the dining room is an intriguing, artsy construction that looks like it might be the inside of a cloud. Camélia has a more relaxed atmosphere and traditional French cuisine, while the health-conscious can dine on avocado toast and other healthful options at L’Honoré. Right outside, fragrant camellia trees perfume a dreamy courtyard, which – partially covered and heated during the winter – can be enjoyed year-round. The hotel also has an enchanting patisserie in addition to the impossibly stylish Bar 8, where lights are kept low and the walls glimmer with inlaid crystals.
The spa’s pool area is a tranquil oasis where intimate, cushioned boxes offer a touch of poolside privacy. Seven treatment rooms (including three couples’ suites) are alluring and deeply restful, and a fitness centre is reasonably well-equipped. If you’d prefer to exercise in the fresh air, however, you’re in luck – the Jardin des Tuileries is just a five-minute stroll away.
