This sky-high restroom hosts a lovely afternoon tea, featuring small-batch selections from sustainable, independent tea gardens. More sultry and secluded is The Bar, where decor inspired by the Spice Road creates a perfect atmosphere for sipping creative cocktails or listening to local DJs.

A few steps away are some of NYC’s finest restaurants, located within the adjoining (an indoor passageway will get you there) Time Warner Center: Per Se, and Masa. And there are several others, not as high-end, but certainly worth a visit. There’s superb shopping here, too, including names like Sephora, Coach, Cole Haan, Williams Sonoma, Amazon Books, Hugo Boss and many more. And there’s a jazz club; you get the picture.

The Spa at Mandarin Oriental was recently voted the best in New York, and it’s easy to see why. With an amethyst steam room, vitality pools, a tea lounge and luxe treatment rooms, it’s a wonderful spot to soak up some wellness. There’s also a huge indoor lap pool with city skyline views and a fantastic gym with a sauna, yoga classes, personal trainers and a wellness concierge.
