The concept behind Les Sources de Caudalie is inspired by the ‘French Paradox’, a phrase coined in the 1980s. It refers to a study showing that despite the diet in southwest France being rich in saturated fats, there isn’t the level of cardiovascular disease that you’d expect – most likely down to the benefits of drinking wine.
The hotel’s La Grand’Vigne restaurant boasts two Michelin stars and is set in a former orangery, modelled on an ornamental, 18th-century glasshouse.
