An urban lifestyle resort set on Kowloon’s waterfront, Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong is a stylish escape that offers its guests a refreshing respite from the hubbub of the city. Though its location leaves something to be desired in terms of things to do in the immediate area (there’s not much), the hotel makes up for it by spoiling its guests with its sheer spaciousness. A stay here means plenty of space to stretch out and relax both indoors and out, and – though there’s limited excitement within walking distance – nearby transit centres place the rest of the city (and all the adventures to be found there) within easy reach.

You’ll certainly want to take advantage of the al fresco options, especially given the views; the best of which can be found at Red Sugar. Visually striking interiors and with 270° views from its outdoor terrace, Red Sugar is a trendy spot to see and be seen for drinks in the early evening. When you’re ready for a full meal, the all-day Big Bay Café offers temptingly varied culinary experiences in seven different pavilions, all of which have names like “Steam,” “Grill,” “Chill” and (our favourite) “Dessert Lab.” Hung Tong offers contemporary Chinese fare in a traditional setting, while Dockyard is a gourmet food hall concept set right on the harbour front.

Base Camp Kerry Sports is where you’ll find the hotel’s luxurious health and wellness amenities, which include a 25-metre outdoor pool (it remains open even in the winter months), a well-equipped fitness centre and a decadent spa.
