A charming historic property set on Maryland’s Eastern shore, Inn at Perry Cabin is a picturesque resort with roots tracing back over two centuries. Built in 1812 as an upscale country house and with a legacy that includes being featured in the 2005 film ‘Wedding Crashers’, Inn at Perry Cabin is a quintessential Northeastern getaway with a uniquely memorable charm. And – given that it’s set on 26 beautiful acres of farmland and forest by Miles River – you could hardly ask for a more scenic escape.

Alexandra Champalimaud is the designer behind the resort’s recently revamped accommodations. The 79 accommodations are divided between guestrooms and suites, with a good range of options found among each of those categories. Within, traditional colonial design gets a contemporary reimagining. The spaces are beautiful in their simplicity and feature a colour palette of subdued neutrals and organic materials. Regal touches like wingback chairs and polished wooden scrollwork elevate the ambience, while the presence of homey accents like wicker chairs and cosy couches keep the spaces feeling supremely inviting. Nearly all of the rooms enjoy private balconies or terraces, but a handful do not; be sure to keep this in mind when selecting your accommodation.

All the flavours of the Eastern shore take centre stage in the resort's gastronomy scene, complemented by locally sourced produce – all seasonal, of course. The mission of the restaurant STARS is to “return Chesapeake Bay cooking to its fundamental elements” – an initiative which is executed beautifully. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this attractive fine-dining eatery honours the beauty and simplicity of the region's land-based and aquatic bounty. For a small plate and a delicious drink, Purser’s Pub is sure to become your go-to spot. Intimate and charming, this venue features cosy interiors and a fire pit in the courtyard outside. High Tide Pool Bar is another option; there you’ll find a sizzling grill, family-friendly favourites and refreshing cocktails alongside healthy, vibrant dishes.

The Spa at Perry Cabin is a truly blissful spot, drenched in tranquillity and enveloped by botanical beauty. Herbs and aromatics grown in the Inn’s own gardens feature prominently in the spa's bespoke treatments, many of which rotate with the seasons. In addition to the spa's seven treatment rooms, you’ll also find a designated relaxation room, infinity pool and boutique alongside a bright and airy fitness centre and morning yoga sessions on the manicured lawn.
