Henrietta Hotel
London, United Kingdom
About the hotel
"A boutique hotel with an ultra-desirable Covent Garden address, the Henrietta Hotel boasts 18 brilliantly designed guestrooms and a fabulous restaurant, to boot."
The Henrietta is the very definition of a boutique hotel: with just 18 rooms and suites, it’s pleasantly intimate, and the atmosphere (though appropriately sophisticated) is refreshingly friendly and warm. When it comes to the interior design of the guestrooms, the style is rather difficult to pin down – such is the genius of designer Dorothée Meilichzon. Each of the 18 accommodations is uniquely styled, and quite unlike any hotel room we’ve seen before: think art Deco meets a Chelsea gallery meets a vaguely futuristic spaceship-like we said, hard to pin down, but utterly fabulous. Each of the 18 accommodations is uniquely styled, and quite unlike any hotel room we’ve seen before: think art Deco meets a Chelsea gallery meets a vaguely futuristic spaceship-like we said, hard to pin down, but utterly fabulous. Gorgeous use of colours is found throughout: a brilliantly blue wall here, a splash of pastel pink there and a headboard boasting a circular mirror to reflect it all. Furniture is whimsical in a high fashion sort of way, and spacious bathrooms charm with their marble accents and pretty tiled floors. Some rooms have private terraces and views vary: the best vistas are found in the Grand Henrietta Room which has a beautiful view of the London Eye.
The hotel's Valentin Pouzet-led restaurant Is open from 7:00 am to 1:00 am and draws its inspiration from Southwest France, Basque Country and Corsica. Creative dishes are as pretty as they are delicious, and the vibrant menu boasts everything from sea bream ceviche to burrata with freeze-dried strawberries. Nearby, the private mezzanine and bar is an equally delightful spot for a light bite or a killer cocktail in a cosy atmosphere.
And then, of course, there's Henrietta's location. Surrounded by gorgeous architecture and upscale shops, eateries and entertainment, Covent Garden bags to be explored: make sure you leave plenty of time to do just that. The only question is where to start: to put it into perspective, there are over seven hundred restaurants within half a kilometre of the hotel. There’s also beloved attractions aplenty: the National Gallery is a five-minute stroll away as is the Royal Opera House.
