Set in West Chelsea, a stone’s throw away from the High Line, Faena New York brings the Argentine hospitality brand’s luxurious vision to the Big Apple. Known for its locations in Buenos Aires and Miami Beach, Faena’s New York City chapter began in 2025 and is off to a smashing start. If first impressions are everything, this hotel delivers: pass through the threshold, and you’re immediately greeted by an abundance of leopard print, scarlet and fabulous art.

Theatrical though the lobby may be, the guest rooms are decidedly calmer, though the artsy energy is retained throughout. Lipstick-red accents add vibrancy and echo the lobby below, while blonde wood walls, high ceilings and wispy white drapes over floor-to-ceiling windows lend a graceful, airy feel. The light-filled spaces are tastefully appointed with artistic accents – think touches of animal print, sculptural furnishings and eye-catching rugs underfoot – and far-reaching views of the city delight (snag a corner room if you can for this very reason).

You’ll have no shortage of dining options steps away from the hotel (this being New York, after all), yet it’s still worth starting your culinary escapades within the hotel itself. La Boca by Francis Mallmann is a visually dramatic affair, resplendent with plush scarlet seating and oversized murals beneath a spectacular chandelier. The food is as worthy of note as the decor: a celebration of Argentine cuisine with Patagonian, Spanish and Italian influences layered in, this is equally as good a spot for morning coffee as it is for a succulent steak in the evening. The Living Room is a decadent space and the social heart of the hotel. Glamorously appointed with leopard print, glass and gold, it’s there that you’ll find indulgent bites, lavish cocktails and live music every night. Behind an unmarked door, a hidden bar and salon called El Secreto awaits, and there’s also La Cava for private dining and events.

The entire underground level of the hotel is occupied by Tierra Santa Healing House: a 17,000-square-foot wellness destination. Expect the works: rejuvenating rituals, a comprehensive treatment menu and a fabulous ‘Thermal Sanctuary’ within which you’ll find – among other things – a hammam, saunas (dry and infrared), cold plunge, saltwater pool and a tepidarium relaxation lounge. For active guests, there’s also a superbly well-equipped fitness centre and dedicated movement studio to boot.
