Situated beachside and near to the trendy Neve Tzedek neighbourhood with its fabulous boutiques, eateries and cafes, you couldn’t be better situated if you’re here in town for either a sightseeing sojourn or a business trip. Historic Old Jaffa is a short taxi ride away, and Ben Gurion Airport is about a half hour’s drive. The hotel’s vast lobby is impressive, upon arrival, and the welcoming check-in team and the highly competent concierge will set the tone for your stay. Parking is available at the hotel, for a fee. If you wish to save your shekels for something else, eschew four wheels and get about town on an electric Bird scooter, found at various pick-up and drop-off stations across the city.

Selecting a room is fairly straightforward, as you’ll want one with a water view and a balcony, preferably on a higher floor (it’s quieter). The decor in the rooms isn’t the most exciting, but the rooms are comfortable and the beds are made up in nice linens. The lack of Nespresso machines is a bit of a downer, and in a hotel of this size, room service is somewhat slow. One option is to upgrade to the Club Intercontinental level, where getting your morning cup of Joe posthaste won’t be an issue. You’ll also have access to the lounge, snacks and refreshments all day and cocktails and canapes in the evenings. Most suites come with access to the Club and have interconnecting options for larger groups.

Dining in the hotel can be as casual or as fancy as you care to go. Start the day at Jaffa Court for breakfast, and the Atrium Lobby Bar may be the perfect place for a lite bite at lunch (or later). Nomi is the hotel’s fine dining restaurant (you’ll need reservations), and there’s also a swanky cigar bar that’s perfect for an after-dinner drink. Restaurants in the neighbourhood are superb, so if you feel like venturing out, you’ll find there are many great options.

The beach can be reached by crossing the street, but you may be just as happy on a lounger by the huge outdoor pool, where an iced tea, or something stronger, is never far away. The hotel has a huge gym where you’ll never have to wait for a machine and a spa which is well worth setting some time aside to frequent.
