Set in a gorgeous neoclassical palazzo that once housed the headquarters of the Bank of Italy, the hotel’s address in the Campo Marzio district places it smack in the historic heart of the city. Guests seeking a launching pad from which to explore could hardly ask for a better location; historic sites such as the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain can all be reached in under ten minutes on foot, while the Roman Forum and Colosseum are less than a thirty-minute stroll away.

Within, the property’s five dozen accommodations are elegant and calm, and – with the smallest spaces beginning at 25 square metres – spacious by Rome’s standards. There, a seasonally driven menu honours local ingredients in dishes that blend tradition with modernity; think braised oxtail with cocoa and coriander or ricotta gnocchi with sea snails, rhubarb and cuttlefish ink.
