Though the beach that the resort resides on is a public one, Chiva-Som still manages to feel impressively – and delightfully – exclusive. The property is a large one, too, though you wouldn’t necessarily know just by looking at it thanks to the tranquil atmosphere and abundance of greenery between structures. The resort’s architecture is an attractive mix of Thai influences, both old and new, and bountiful water features and palm trees add to the tropical paradise feel. Guestrooms carry on the same classic-meets-contemporary aesthetic, with each space feeling like an (extremely well designed) oasis.
