Though the hotel is located a mere 25 minutes from Salzburg, the alpine landscape makes it feel a world away. Nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts will be particularly pleased with the property’s setting, as it’s primely located for exploring the Salzkammergut region. The hotel’s 143 guestrooms are divided into three separate houses, each of which has its own distinct character. Gutshaus accommodations favour a timeless design scheme: think oversized tufted headboards topped by ornamental scrollwork carvings, wood floors underfoot and – in some – slanted walls that lend an air of romance to the spaces. Jagdhaus rooms feel cosy and classic with plaid carpeting underfoot, nature-inspired details and a colour scheme set in ivory, mocha and scarlet. Hüttererhaus accommodations feel the most modern of the three; these spaces feature warm tones, an abundance of organic materials and photo wallpaper murals that pay tribute to the natural beauty of the region.

Breakfast at Arabella Jagdhof takes the form of an ample buffet brimming with seasonal options, and the resort features an assortment of venues for the day’s later meals and cravings. Traditional Austrian dishes are served for lunch and dinner at Wirtshaus CERVUS, while the gourmet restaurant FUXBAU is a French-Austrian affair helmed by Chef Johannes Fuchs. FUXBAU, it should be noted, is open on Friday and Saturday only, and do be sure to book a reservation in advance. For a sweet treat and a cup of tea or coffee, visit Wohncafé My Deer, which is an enchanting little spot with a storybook ambience. Alternatively, try Halili Bar for a fabulous cocktail and Mediterranean small plates.
