Amanwana
About the hotel
"As the only resort on the island of Moyo, the twelve-tent Amanwana is secluded and exclusive with nature-surrounded accommodations and a magnificent spa."
A magical, cast-away sort of atmosphere hangs over the resort, and the island’s remoteness is indeed part of its charm. Expect your arrival to take upwards of an hour whether you make the voyage by seaplane or yacht, and rest assured that the destination will be well worth the travel time.
You’ll have just two options to choose from when it comes time to pick accommodations; an Ocean Tent (which is set a bit back from the white sand beach and overlooks the ocean), or a Jungle Tent set peacefully beneath the tropical forest canopy and enveloped by lush greenery. The accommodations’ resemblance to conventional tents begins and ends with their fabric roofs; beneath them, you can expect modern luxury and the utmost comfort... Show more

The accommodations’ resemblance to conventional tents begins and ends with their fabric roofs; beneath them, you can expect modern luxury and the utmost comfort within. Expansive picture windows make the tents’ marvellous views the true stars of the show, and the interiors are decorated simply yet sumptuously with Indonesian artwork, gorgeous hardwood floors and ample legroom.
Dining at Amanwana takes place at the fittingly named venue known as The Restaurant which overlooks the Flores Sea to the Sumbawa Mountains and Medang Island beyond. Cuisine at the restaurant is focused on a garden-(and sea)-to-table approach; much of the fresh produce and herbs come from the resort’s own garden, and the catch of the day is always a highlight of the menu (and is, of course, supremely fresh). You’ll want to take advantage of the al fresco dining, whether that means dinner by a campfire on the beach or a cocktail at sundown atop a volcanic ridge called Sunset Point.
Some of Indonesia’s finest scuba diving can be found within ten minutes of the resort thanks to the region’s protected waters and reefs. Dive beneath the waves or remain on top of them with water sports like kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. Back on land, hiking trails wind through the hilly tropical forests; keep your eyes open for deer, macaques and wild boar as you explore.
Wellness enthusiasts will adore the resort’s spa which is anything but ordinary with its wilderness location and menu of magnificent treatments. Those include temptations such as Smoking Ceremonies, Javanese Lulur Body Treatments and Purifying Rituals.
