If you’re looking for local cuisine, you’ll find a tempting variety at Si Shui, where the menu features seafood fresh from nearby lakes and produce from the hotel’s private farm. For fine dining with farm-to-table Cantonese cuisine, there’s Shui Shi Kou, which has lovely views of the water feature but is only open for breakfast and lunch. Stop by San Bai Bar for afternoon tea and Western snacks, or plan a cosy evening in with room-service dinner and a movie in the comfort of your room. If you’re travelling with children, it’s worth noting there are no kids’ menus in any of the restaurants, but dishes can be customised to accommodate picky eaters.
If you forego booking a Pool Villa, you’ll still have access to a large outdoor pool and a heated indoor pool. There’s a 24-hour gym, and while the hotel lacks a formal spa, spa services are available upon request. One of the main highlights of staying here is the Alila Moments programme of activities, which include a tea workshop with painting and tastings, sound baths, a hands-on workshop on Jingnan indigo dyeing and a cocktail class centred around local Sanbai liquors.
