Airelles Palladio, Venice
About the hotel
"An exclusive boutique getaway set on Giudecca Island, Airelles Palladio, Venice boasts elegant guestrooms, a spectacular dining scene and the largest wellness space in Venice."
Set in three restored 16th-century buildings and surrounded by gardens, Airelles Palladio is scenic from the start. Despite its grandeur, the property remains intimate: there are just 17 rooms, 28 suites and a standalone 3-bedroom villa. Set in three restored 16th-century buildings and surrounded by gardens, Airelles Palladio is scenic from the start. Despite its grandeur, the property remains intimate: there are just 17 rooms, 28 suites and a standalone 3-bedroom villa. No two accommodations are alike, and all are meticulously designed in a celebration of Venetian history. The spaces are resplendent with antique furniture, Rubelli and Fortuny fabrics, Murano glasswork and hand-painted frescoes, yet they avoid feeling stuffy or overdone. Instead, the spaces feel elegantly serene, an atmosphere elevated by clever touches like the televisions that are discreetly hidden behind mirrors.
For food lovers, the hotel is a dining destination unto itself, and the gastronomy scene has been crafted by some of the world’s most celebrated chefs. ABC Kitchens is the Italian debut of Jean-Georges Vongerichten; there, the iconic chef’s Mediterranean cuisine is reimagined with the local influence and ingredients of Venice. Another premier is the first Matsuhisa restaurant in Italy, where guests can dine on Chef Nobu’s famous Japanese-Peruvian fusion in a gorgeous Baroque dining room. Villa Frollo by Norbert Niederkofler is a love letter to Venice’s culinary identity, with a seasonally changing menu highlighting local ingredients and a ‘Cook the Lagoon’ philosophy. For those with a sweet tooth, the Cedric Grolet Experience is not to be missed; the French pastry chef is also responsible for the spectacular breakfast buffet. A trio of bars offer variety for a drink; we like Palladio Bar for a cocktail with views over the canal.
Airelles Palladio features the largest wellness space in Venice, and the Guerlain Spa is as much worth a visit to look at as it is for a treatment (or two). HairSpa by Rossano Ferretti will ensure that you’re properly groomed for a night out, while yoga sessions, Pilates Reformer classes, a small fitness centre and multiple pools allow guests to stay active during their stay.
