Top 4 Summer Holiday Destinations Worldwide

Top 4 Summer Holiday Destinations Worldwide

Summertime is (almost) upon us and with that, our summer planning commences. Our editors have delved into some of the most popular destinations for the break of a lifetime.

Peru

While it's a popular choice to visit Peru between the Northern Hemisphere summer months of June and August (the Peruvian winter), it's certainly one for a reason. Traverse the expansive rainforests, soak up the sun in the Amazon Basin (which is in the dry season during these months) or explore the craggy Andes and ruins of Macchu Picchu. This is also a great period for festivals, in particular Inti Raymi, which marks the Peruvian winter solstice and is held this year on June 24.

French Polynesia

The dry season across French Polynesia falls between June and August, with moderate temperatures creating an enjoyable environment for travellers. Situated halfway between California and Australia, this collection of 118 islands and atolls – of which 67 are currently inhabited – spans more than 2,000 kilometres. You could spend all day watching marine life slip through the turquoise waters or exploring the mountainous landscape, which features tumbling waterfalls, verdant rainforests and black-sand beaches.

Tanzania

With the Great Wildebeest Migration taking place between the months of July and October, which also coincide with the dry season, this is the ideal time to visit Tanzania. The East African country, located within the African Great Lakes region, is laden with activities: rustic park retreats, long mountain treks and beachside escapes. Of course, one of the nation’s most prized possessions is the Big Five – elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, and rhinos. Safari adventures are commonplace here and if you travel here during the migration period, you might even be fortunate enough to catch some of these majestic mammals on the move.

Canada

From the Rockies to the Toronto CN Tower, Ontario Lake to the historic Old Quebec, the world’s second-largest country has a lot to offer. The nation is made up of three expansive territories in the northern region of the country and ten provinces in the more populated south: Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Think outdoor excursions in the Banff and Jasper National Parks, Vancouver Island or Whistler Blackcomb, city breaks in French-speaking Quebec and Montreal, or relaxing waterfront stays in Muskoka and Prince Edward Island.

MORAINE LAKE, ALBERTA

Other fantastic holiday destinations come summertime include Ecuador and The Galapagos, which are primed for an adventure-filled vacation. Explore these destinations and more, alongside crafting your own bespoke itinerary, on ASMALLWORLD Bespoke Travel.
