4 Destinations from This Year's Hottest Films

4 Destinations from This Year's Hottest Films

2025 has seen an incredible range of film releases. From the quiet tension of the Vatican in ‘Conclave’ to the thrill of dinosaurs returning to screens in ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’, film locations have taken on a unique starring role. Our editors have compiled their top picks for the most breathtaking film settings across the globe.

Conclave

Set against the political world of papal elections, Conclave brought viewers up close and personal with the Vatican’s architectural prowess as well as the city of Rome’s many architectural splendours. Stroll down to the Sistine Chapel – thankfully not destroyed as it was in the film – and marvel at Michelangelo’s work. To heighten your experience, we recommend staying at the Six Senses Rome, which opened on the original site of the palace built in the 1480s for Cardinal Giovanni Michiel, nephew of Pope Paul II, for a truly immersive ‘Conclave’ experience.

STEP INTO THE WONDER OF CONCLAVE

The Phoenician Scheme

For those seeking a more curated city break, enter the world of Wes Anderson in Berlin. This renowned director’s latest film, ‘The Phoenician Scheme’, was shot at Studio Babelsberg, on the outskirts of the German capital. You can take a tour of these iconic stages or, for film lovers simply looking to enjoy a film-related city break, explore the Andersonian architecture of the city since Berlin is home to several buildings which appear to have sprung out of one of the director’s whimsical films; the ornately tiled Dresdner Molkerei Gebruder Pfund, the red-brick arches of the Prenzlauer Berg Fire Station and the monumental Altes Postamt SW61. And finally somewhere to stay - step into the colourful symmetry of Wes Anderson at the Hotel Adlon Kempinski and enjoy Michelin-star cuisine.

Jurassic World Rebirth

For something more exotic, journey to the lush scenery of Krabi, Thailand; the primary shooting location of ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’. Unlike the more populated island of Koh Samui, as seen in The White Lotus series, Krabi is seemingly untouched by human hands, making it no challenge to picture dinosaurs roaming Khao Phanom Bencha National Park. The waterfalls, lush vegetation and hypnotising blue lagoons transport you back to a time when dinosaurs roamed the planet, allowing you to reconnect with the natural world just as the film reconnects with its classic roots. Witness the towering rock stacks, jungle and clear sea from Phulay Bay, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, a hotel promoting cultural engagement and relaxation, without the fear of encountering a dinosaur.

A Complete Unknown

Any Bob Dylan fans in our midst? Head to the Big Apple to explore the areas which he frequented in the 1960s, where the era’s charm is well-preserved. A stay at Hotel 50 Bowery in the heart of downtown Manhattan will give you city-wide rooftop views, with direct access to some of the sites that featured in Dylan's world beyond the biopic. From here, you can explore Greenwich Village – where Bob Dylan rose to fame – and beyond, following in the footsteps of the ‘60s icon and, of course, those of Timothée Chalamet.
