By literally blurring his subjects’ lines, Gobbi is exploring their transformation into a state of complete fragility.
The goal of this visual project is to enlighten the often neglected aspects of a successful woman’s character: Sensitivity, vulnerability, fragility – captured through a perspective in which the heroine, the primitive, invincible, indestructible Camille reveals a technical and introspective abyss in the narration.
‘The essence I look for in a woman’s identity is intrinsically linked to Mother Nature recognizing her earthly powers of creation and regeneration.’ Franco Gobbi’s work is inspired by and refers to several predecessors such as Man Ray, Francis Bacon and Andy Warhol. Fragile is Gobbi’s debut photography exhibition.
‘His works reflect his presence; in a blink of an eye, you will feel his communicative energy that makes you feel at ease in any kind of situation, his calm that comforts you and wakes you up at the same time.’ Diane Von Fürstenberg
‘Franco Gobbi is unique; he always tries to overcome his creative barriers. What strikes me the most is Franco’s personality; it may seem he is a bit chaotic and completely mad but he is extremely organized with a vision and a very strong energy that he is able to turn into a bridge to take me along with him on his journey.’
Maria Carla Boscono
At 23, Franco moved to Milan, Paris and finally New York where he worked with the most famous photographers - Nan Goldin, Araki, Paolo Roversi, Juergen Teller, Terry Richardson, Karl Lagerfeld, Rankin and others. His passion led him beyond art and fashion photography to work with musical artists such as Björk, Adele, Katy Perry, Cyndi Lauper, Courtney Love and The XX. Franco continues working in the fashion, music and art industries while expanding his involvement in personal art projects.
